So Shabby Pink - Pictures from Dallas Gift Show

THIS is the loading dock at the World Trade Center. We were far too impatient to get in line for the dock helpers to unload for us, so we parked our vehicles and muscled our haul up the freight elevators ourselves.

It is amazing how they took a space that looked like stoarge and transformed it into an attractive area for vendors.
This is part of the before-------

Set up is coming along nicely.

Our booth had a really calming and dreamy look.

Participants in our booth were:

Kimberly of My Pink Boutique
and Erica of Meadow Street

Here are some pictures from the first floor plaza of
the World Trade Center.

When downstairs on the uncarpeted floor, you hear that clack, clack, clack, clack of the wheels of carts and cases folks are pulling around as they collect information.

The building is 13 floors up. Everything on the ground
floor has an echo that kind of sings against the walls.
I will search my photo file and see if I can find more good pictures.
I appreciate you coming by today!

So Shabby Pink - We're Baaack!

Don't ever let anyone tell you that exhibiting in a wholesale trade show is easy! That was the hardest work I've done in a long time!

I am going to just tease you a little with this chaotic picture. The set up began before I arrived. Lori, of Katties Rose Cottage Designs, had already begun the set for Erica of Meadow Street and Carrie of Noelle Garrett Designs, who flew in on Friday evening. Kimberly of My Pink Boutique, arrived on Thursday and we all pitched in for her set up.

As soon as I can get my pictures off my phone, I'll be sharing more images with you. It sure was fun and an experience I am so glad I was a part of! I would do it all over again any day.

There is more to come from all of us of Vintage Rose Boutiques so don't go away.

We also will be offering some new products at
So Shabby Pink in a few weeks. Hope you stop by our website and see what's new!

Glad you stopped by,

Happy New Year to All

Hope everyone had a happy and safe New Year's celebration! We always stay home, eat our favorite foods, and open a bottle of champagne around 10 o'clock. Then, we conference call with my Dad and sister at midnight! My family lives on the east coast so we celebrate with them and then again on Texas time. Two toasts to the new year!

On Jan 15-18, I'll be exhibiting our So Shabby Pink products at the Total Home and Gift Show in Dallas, TX. We will be taking orders for our products to be sold in stores, hopefully near you!

This is where we are going-----

World Trade Center
We will be on the 12th floor, Booth #2327

View from inside the WTC

Another exhibit building called Market Hall.

I will join 4 other very talented ladies. We all remain separate businesses but collectively, we call ourselves the Vintage Rose Boutiques. You can follow this blog to see our progress toward this big event.

Needless to say, I am busy trying to arrange samples, price sheets, and display props. I am also getting butterflies!

So Shabby Pink - Up Late with New Pin Cushion

Hello!

It is almost October! How did that happen? Our trees and grass are still green and it was 85 degrees today. That's okay though. I love the mild winters here.

I worked on two pin cushions today. Here is one of them that is the smaller of the two. The second one will be put on our So Shabby Pink website tomorrow.

I can't go to bed right now. I have some clothes in the dryer. Sounds goofy, but I just don't like going to sleep with applicances still running.....
So, what do you want for Christmas?

So Shabby Pink - New Item Framed Roses

I just love the softness these bows add to an otherwise hard and rigid home decor item. This will fit into so many decors. If you love the shabby chic look, cottage country decor or just love pink and white, this is a lovely accessory. Easel on back for table top display.

Come visit us at So Shabby Pink. Don't forget to pick up the newest copy of Romantic Country Magazine.

So Shabby Pink - Introducing Designer Artist Darlene Lydia Violet

Hello!

I want to introduce you to a Designer/Artist that I met this year. Her professional name is Darlene Lydia Violet. I met Darlene through my website and it has been such a pleasure to get to know her.

First and foremost, Darlene wants all to know that she is a Christian and that she loves God with all her heart and soul. Darlene says God has given her this ability. She is happily married to her husband, Terry and they live in Florida with eight doggies! They have Miniature Schnauzers and Cairn Terriers. She likes calling them Schnauzicairns!

This is my favorite painting of hers. Everyone knows I love roses and this fits into the shabby chic and cottage home look I love so much.

Pink "Best Friends" Poodles is being shown on the website Vintage Chic Furniture. The hearts glow in the dark and they have faux diamond collars, eyes and toe nails! There is also a pink rose on the lady poodle's paw.

This painting has all my favorite colors. Such a beautiful piece of art! I really admire her talent and am so pleased to present her to you all.

All of Darlene's paintings are originals and painted in acrylics. They are finished off on the front with ribbons or pearls and pretty things that give them dimension. The back of her paintings are finished with felt and ribbons or fabric and ribbons.

I know there are many more fine details about Darlene's paintings that she would love to tell you about herself. If you would like to see more of Darlene's work or have questions, you can contact her through her email address:

thepinkpoodle7777@bellsouth.net:email or contact me at:

soshabbypink@satx.rr.com and I will hook you up with her!

I hope all of you are doing well. Glad you stopped by tonight. We finally got RAIN today and all is well.

So Shabby Pink - Paul de Longpre La France Roses Back in Stock

Hello!

Our best selling yard long print, "La France Roses," is back in stock. It is by far, our best selling wall decor item. I bought a very long white frame at Hobby Lobby for framing. I got it during one of Hobby Lobby's sales.

"La France Roses" by Paul de Longpre
Hope all of you are doing well. It is STILL hot here and it makes working outside quite a chore. I ride my bicycle in the hot afternoons but still haven't managed to get used to it. I am looking forward to our mild Texas winter.
We am starting to think about Christmas! Hope you will share your decorating and celebration plans here. Last year, I posted lots of pictures on my website So Shabby Pink, that came from my readers' homes all decorated for Christmas. I hope to be able to do that again and will probably let it spill over to our blog.
Also, on our sister website, So Shabby Pink PAPER, we will be doing something similar this year. We haven't quite decided what, but we will let you know.
Thanks for stopping by today,

So Shabby Pink and Perpetuum Jazzile - Africa (live)

OH! You have got to watch this! Another choir member at church, Julaine, sent this to me. Make sure you watch it to the end though. It starts out with "rain" and then they continue on...... All the percussion sounds and what sounds like background music is actually people. :-) Turn your speakers up!

So Shabby Pink Tea Set for Home Decor

I've gotten to the point where I will paint just about anything. I have even painted picture frame glass, mirrors and individual glass items. When the mood strikes, I go for it!
I love to find orphaned silver plated tea sets that have not received the kind of love and care they needed. Those are perfect candidates for a redesign.

We have one coming soon to our website, So Shabby Pink. This is how this one ended up.

I like it. :-)

Speaking of design, I have found the blog of a very talented lady. She writes great entries and has wonderful photos to illustrate. Visit Interior Designer, Cathy Erickson, at The Stylish House.

So Shabby Pink Happy for Another Year

Well, I am blessed to have had another birthday! I am always grateful for each and every year I live. My mother died rather young and I just don't take birthdays for granted.

I always want shrimp for special days. So, we made some shrimp and shrimp and shrimp kabobs and survived grilling in this awful Texas heat wave.

My family and I have reached that point where we ask, "What can I get them?" so we have resorted to food! My sister sent me all these goodies from Whole Foods Grocery in Georgia.

AHH! My favorite! My husband made me a yellow cake with chocolate icing. He was kind and didn't put candles on it.

Now that July 4th and my birthday are over, it's time to go back to work! It is so hot here in Texas though, that I just don't want to get out in the garage to paint. It was 103 degrees at 6:30 pm tonight. I will be glad when this high pressure system moves away from the state of Texas!
I often paint standing at the kitchen counter during these summer days! This does slow me down a bit, I must say but it beats the alternative.
My husband built this nice solid wood box for me when I was making soap. It was supposed to be a soap mold but I never used it. It is now a great holder for wash clothes or personal items on your romantic vanity.

Hope you stop by our website, So Shabby Pink. We have some great new things coming.....
Thanks for stopping by,
Peggy

So Shabby Pink - Celebrate Freedom

The USA might not be perfect but celebrate our freedom in the USA this weekend!
