So Shabby Pink Cannister Sets for Chic Home

We finally found some pretty wooden canisters to paint up for our one of a kind category.  We have 2 pair embellished with our signature roses.  See them here.

These come with the original plastic liners that fit inside.  Not recommended for food storage, however (unsealed paint).  For decorative use only.

So Shabby Pink DIY with Serger and New Ruffle

Sewing.  Our moms did it or at least mine did.  She was as good as any professional seamstress, for sure.  Because of her, I learned to sew.  I don't ever remember sitting and taking lessons from her.  I just watched and learned.

I have recently purchased a 60 year old, Singer 915 Centennial sewing machine to do heavy duty work like welting for slipcovers and pillows.  It is a work horse!  It sits beside my 35 year old Kenmore!  They are both testaments of the durability of good 'ol American made products!

Back to mom - In order to create nice seams that did not fray, my mother used pinking shears and then sewed a straight stitch over the jagged edge. It was fairly effective but not very pretty.

That said, there is a wonderful modern machine our moms did not have!  The SERGER!  Let me show you what it does!  Here is the end result of making some pretty ruffle for my very cool cell phone purses.

PRETTY ROUGH, huh??

Isn't that just beautiful!
If you have some picture of your latest sewing projects, we would love to see them!

Also, if you are interested in learning to sew, www.craftsy.com/ provides online classes for a very small fee.

So Shabby Pink - Have You Seen This Fabric ?

Hello!

I posted this picture a little while ago talking about how much I love this room.  No, it's not mine but I surely can try as hard as I can to reproduce it.

I need y'all's help.  I am looking for the fabric in this pillow pictured below.  I have been searching the internet for a long time.  I've looked through Etsy, Ebay, and lots of fabric websites.  The flowers are dogwoods and the background looks gray.  I am not sure if it is bark cloth or not.

If anyone out there finds this somewhere, would you let me know, please?  I would forever be grateful!

So Shabby Pink Estate Sale Love

I guess anyone with a business name with the word "shabby" in it, loves to go to flea markets and estate sales.  That includes me! I know there must be lots of you out there too.

These are the latest gadgets I found.  Vintage whisks! The first one...oh, I just love.  Most modern whisks are rounded at the end but this one is flat.  It allows you to whisk in the corners of the pot!  I love that.  I am making gravy here and am able to get to every inch of the bottom of the pan. Nice!

So Shabby Pink - Introducing Designer Artist Darlene Lydia Violet

Hello!

I want to introduce you to a Designer/Artist that I met this year. Her professional name is Darlene Lydia Violet. I met Darlene through my website and it has been such a pleasure to get to know her.

First and foremost, Darlene wants all to know that she is a Christian and that she loves God with all her heart and soul. Darlene says God has given her this ability. She is happily married to her husband, Terry and they live in Florida with eight doggies! They have Miniature Schnauzers and Cairn Terriers. She likes calling them Schnauzicairns!

This is my favorite painting of hers. Everyone knows I love roses and this fits into the shabby chic and cottage home look I love so much.

Pink "Best Friends" Poodles is being shown on the website Vintage Chic Furniture. The hearts glow in the dark and they have faux diamond collars, eyes and toe nails! There is also a pink rose on the lady poodle's paw.

This painting has all my favorite colors. Such a beautiful piece of art! I really admire her talent and am so pleased to present her to you all.

All of Darlene's paintings are originals and painted in acrylics. They are finished off on the front with ribbons or pearls and pretty things that give them dimension. The back of her paintings are finished with felt and ribbons or fabric and ribbons.

I know there are many more fine details about Darlene's paintings that she would love to tell you about herself. If you would like to see more of Darlene's work or have questions, you can contact her through her email address:

thepinkpoodle7777@bellsouth.net:email or contact me at:

soshabbypink@satx.rr.com and I will hook you up with her!

I hope all of you are doing well. Glad you stopped by tonight. We finally got RAIN today and all is well.

So Shabby Pink - Cute New Products NOT for Christmas Only

I have so far, always been behind the power curve when it came to getting pretty Christmas decor items on my website. Seemed as though there was always something else I needed to do or somewhere I needed to go.

This year, I am starting early. Having a glue gun craving for that quick fix, I recently put together some cute little ornaments. These can be hung from doorknobs or will make lovely shabby chic style or cottage home Christmas tree ornaments.

Hope you stop by So
Shabby Pink soon. Some are already gone but I will be making more.
