Happy New Year from So Shabby Pink

Happy New Year to you! If you are reading this, you survived another holiday season.  We were very busy with family for Christmas that we decided to close down for the whole month of December. I enjoyed every minute of it though!

Now, on to 2015.  I have lot of ideas in my head for this year and am praying I can make them happen!

Valentine's Day will be here soon and we have our beautiful red rose necklaces on sale for $19.99. We ship these by First Class Mail to save on cost.

How pretty that would look with a basic black dress. The rose is (approx) 2"- 2-1/4" in diameter.  The large rhinestone in the center is brilliant. The paint finish has a slight metallic look. It's very pretty.

Again, Happy New Year.  May this be a blessed and prosperous year!

Warm regards,

Peggy

So Shabby Pink - New Products on Our Website

Hello!

The sun has come out in Texas! I know, in a few months, I'll be complaining about how hot it is, but it sure has been nice to go outside today.

My husband has been in the garage today cutting wood for our new boxes. He is surely known for good workmanship. He mitered the corners, and the bottom is recessed so that it fits flush. Thank goodness he is doing it and not me! Then, I cover all the pretty wood finish with my favorite paint colors!

This one is a tiny bit smaller and I think works nicely for rolled up wash cloths in your romantic bathroom.

This one is a little larger and would be nice to roll up both hand towels and a few washcloths for a guest bathroom.

Both are lined on the bottom with a pink vinyl wallpaper so if you need to, you can wipe it clean with a damp cloth. They come in any of our pretty colors. What a pretty way to display your cologne or make-up bottles on your counter or vanity. Plenty of roses on these. You can find these on our website, So Shabby Pink, and they are now a regular item that can be reordered.
Hope everyone's weekend is going well. Will you be watching the Super Bowl??

Thanks for stopping by!

So Shabby Pink - 15th Wedding Anniversary

Oh! Roses for me?? How sweet! You see, Thursday was our 15th wedding anniversary and after running errands that morning, I came home to roses on the kitchen table! Bless his heart, my husband couldn't find the vase we use to put flowers in, and since I wasn't home when he got there, he just left them on the table.

Gosh, what pretty roses! Since I am a very practical and rather frugal person, if he were to have used something like a real florist or some home delivery flower service, I would have appreciated them, but would have cringed at the price. They are just flowers! After spending half a fortune for a dozen roses years ago, he was probably pretty happy when he learned I felt this way!
Since we have a grocery chain here that sells flowers for a fraction of the cost, I think that is a wiser choice. If you have a Costco in your area, they also have a gorgeous flower selection.

Anyway, I gleefully took them out of the paper and put them in a vase. My arrangement is a little crooked and not perfectly balanced but I think they are beautiful!

This is day 2 of the 7 day guarantee.

I am keeping them on my desk since I spend a lot of time there.

I am not sure which was better, the roses or the contents of the cardboard box laying beside the roses -- a rear window wiper arm for my SUV that needed to be replaced.

You see, the morning I was leaving to go to Dallas for the Home and Gift Show, I was SO anxious to get out of the house and on the road, that I left the hatch up on my Explorer while trying to get out of the garage!! Oh, no.....the wiper arm was dangling from the back window! I can still remember the sound of that thing breaking! NOW what am I going to do? Packing tape! I mega-taped that thing with clear packing tape and off I went!

So, roses ~vs~ window wiper arm....this year was a toss up. Thank you, honey for both!

Thanks for taking the time to stop by today! Have a good weekend!

The Roses are Blooming at So Shabby Pink

Hello all.

I can't believe it was 90 degrees here yesterday. Too much too soon, even for south Texas. It is much milder today though. Texas weather is so unpredictable.

It has been nice enough to get some new plants started for about a month now though. Our yard is shaded by trees so it is hard sometimes to find the sun for the kinds of plants I want to grow. I have settled for bush type tomatoes that can grow in big pots. This year I chose the Bush Goliath.

CLICK ON ALL PICTURES TO ENLARGE

Already have 2 tomatoes!

This is the first year I have grown Petunias. I just love them! They are doing great in the shade!

I planted some Morning Glory seeds and these are ready to grow up on a trellis. I grew these a long time ago and they will grow like crazy all over the place! I can extend strings out from the pot for them to grow on or maybe go get some lattice from the hardware store. Can't wait until they start blooming!

I usually grow a little herbs here and there. A friend of mine has a Rosemany BUSH! It has grown so big in her garden and smells so good.

I forget what this plant is called - if you know, leave a comment!
The spots on the leaves resulted from hail during a thunderstorm!
Almost ready to bloom!
This is a perinneal. bogainvilla...

Begonia - all plants that love shade.
Of course, at So Shabby Pink, we have other types of blooming flowers.

There is a story to come about this bench...

Our newest color: Antique Blue and Cream
