So Shabby Pink and Perpetuum Jazzile - Africa (live)

OH! You have got to watch this! Another choir member at church, Julaine, sent this to me. Make sure you watch it to the end though. It starts out with "rain" and then they continue on...... All the percussion sounds and what sounds like background music is actually people. :-) Turn your speakers up!

So Shabby Pink Tea Set for Home Decor

I've gotten to the point where I will paint just about anything. I have even painted picture frame glass, mirrors and individual glass items. When the mood strikes, I go for it!
I love to find orphaned silver plated tea sets that have not received the kind of love and care they needed. Those are perfect candidates for a redesign.

We have one coming soon to our website, So Shabby Pink. This is how this one ended up.

I like it. :-)

Speaking of design, I have found the blog of a very talented lady. She writes great entries and has wonderful photos to illustrate. Visit Interior Designer, Cathy Erickson, at The Stylish House.

So Shabby Pink Happy for Another Year

Well, I am blessed to have had another birthday! I am always grateful for each and every year I live. My mother died rather young and I just don't take birthdays for granted.

I always want shrimp for special days. So, we made some shrimp and shrimp and shrimp kabobs and survived grilling in this awful Texas heat wave.

My family and I have reached that point where we ask, "What can I get them?" so we have resorted to food! My sister sent me all these goodies from Whole Foods Grocery in Georgia.

AHH! My favorite! My husband made me a yellow cake with chocolate icing. He was kind and didn't put candles on it.

Now that July 4th and my birthday are over, it's time to go back to work! It is so hot here in Texas though, that I just don't want to get out in the garage to paint. It was 103 degrees at 6:30 pm tonight. I will be glad when this high pressure system moves away from the state of Texas!
I often paint standing at the kitchen counter during these summer days! This does slow me down a bit, I must say but it beats the alternative.
My husband built this nice solid wood box for me when I was making soap. It was supposed to be a soap mold but I never used it. It is now a great holder for wash clothes or personal items on your romantic vanity.

Hope you stop by our website, So Shabby Pink. We have some great new things coming.....
