So Shabby Pink - 15th Wedding Anniversary

Oh! Roses for me?? How sweet! You see, Thursday was our 15th wedding anniversary and after running errands that morning, I came home to roses on the kitchen table! Bless his heart, my husband couldn't find the vase we use to put flowers in, and since I wasn't home when he got there, he just left them on the table.

Gosh, what pretty roses! Since I am a very practical and rather frugal person, if he were to have used something like a real florist or some home delivery flower service, I would have appreciated them, but would have cringed at the price. They are just flowers! After spending half a fortune for a dozen roses years ago, he was probably pretty happy when he learned I felt this way!
Since we have a grocery chain here that sells flowers for a fraction of the cost, I think that is a wiser choice. If you have a Costco in your area, they also have a gorgeous flower selection.

Anyway, I gleefully took them out of the paper and put them in a vase. My arrangement is a little crooked and not perfectly balanced but I think they are beautiful!

This is day 2 of the 7 day guarantee.

I am keeping them on my desk since I spend a lot of time there.

I am not sure which was better, the roses or the contents of the cardboard box laying beside the roses -- a rear window wiper arm for my SUV that needed to be replaced.

You see, the morning I was leaving to go to Dallas for the Home and Gift Show, I was SO anxious to get out of the house and on the road, that I left the hatch up on my Explorer while trying to get out of the garage!! Oh, no.....the wiper arm was dangling from the back window! I can still remember the sound of that thing breaking! NOW what am I going to do? Packing tape! I mega-taped that thing with clear packing tape and off I went!

So, roses ~vs~ window wiper arm....this year was a toss up. Thank you, honey for both!

Thanks for taking the time to stop by today! Have a good weekend!

So Shabby Pink - Pictures from Dallas Gift Show

THIS is the loading dock at the World Trade Center. We were far too impatient to get in line for the dock helpers to unload for us, so we parked our vehicles and muscled our haul up the freight elevators ourselves.

It is amazing how they took a space that looked like stoarge and transformed it into an attractive area for vendors.
This is part of the before-------

Set up is coming along nicely.

Our booth had a really calming and dreamy look.

Participants in our booth were:

Kimberly of My Pink Boutique
and Erica of Meadow Street

Here are some pictures from the first floor plaza of
the World Trade Center.

When downstairs on the uncarpeted floor, you hear that clack, clack, clack, clack of the wheels of carts and cases folks are pulling around as they collect information.

The building is 13 floors up. Everything on the ground
floor has an echo that kind of sings against the walls.
I will search my photo file and see if I can find more good pictures.
I appreciate you coming by today!

So Shabby Pink - We're Baaack!

Don't ever let anyone tell you that exhibiting in a wholesale trade show is easy! That was the hardest work I've done in a long time!

I am going to just tease you a little with this chaotic picture. The set up began before I arrived. Lori, of Katties Rose Cottage Designs, had already begun the set for Erica of Meadow Street and Carrie of Noelle Garrett Designs, who flew in on Friday evening. Kimberly of My Pink Boutique, arrived on Thursday and we all pitched in for her set up.

As soon as I can get my pictures off my phone, I'll be sharing more images with you. It sure was fun and an experience I am so glad I was a part of! I would do it all over again any day.

There is more to come from all of us of Vintage Rose Boutiques so don't go away.

We also will be offering some new products at
So Shabby Pink in a few weeks. Hope you stop by our website and see what's new!

Glad you stopped by,

Happy New Year to All

Hope everyone had a happy and safe New Year's celebration! We always stay home, eat our favorite foods, and open a bottle of champagne around 10 o'clock. Then, we conference call with my Dad and sister at midnight! My family lives on the east coast so we celebrate with them and then again on Texas time. Two toasts to the new year!

On Jan 15-18, I'll be exhibiting our So Shabby Pink products at the Total Home and Gift Show in Dallas, TX. We will be taking orders for our products to be sold in stores, hopefully near you!

This is where we are going-----

World Trade Center
We will be on the 12th floor, Booth #2327

View from inside the WTC

Another exhibit building called Market Hall.

I will join 4 other very talented ladies. We all remain separate businesses but collectively, we call ourselves the Vintage Rose Boutiques. You can follow this blog to see our progress toward this big event.

Needless to say, I am busy trying to arrange samples, price sheets, and display props. I am also getting butterflies!

Details for this market are:

Booth Name: Vintage Rose Boutiques
Booth #: 2327 (12th Floor - WTC)
Dates: Jan. 15-18, 2010
