So Shabby Pink - Blue and White Rooms
Hello!
It sure does not feel like December here in South Texas. It's about 75 degrees, little wind and sunny. My husband cut the grass and chopped up fallen leaves. It's so nice out there!
Although I sell a lot of pink in my business, So Shabby Pink, I have a real passion for blue and am wanting to makes some changes in the house.
See link reference below
No, this is not our bedroom but I am thinking about doing a version of this. I think this is so pretty and very peaceful ! I found some nice fabric very similar to this at Calico Corners.
What was the name of that show on HGTV where they would show a desinger's room that had a very expensive price tag. THEN, they would go out and find furniture and decor to re-create a look alike room for a fraction of the price.....what was the name of that show? This picture is my guide. I won't be able to start until after the new year though. Just too busy this month!

This one can be ordered in multiples.
These are so beautiful on a Christmas tree, especially if you use a lot of the colors I do in your decorations. Please note that a few can be ordered in multiples since we have plenty of that particular fabric. They are also adorable as a door knob ornament.
What is your Thanksgiving menu? What are the traditional dishes your family makes?
Thanks for stopping by this morning,
Peggy

So Shabby Pink - Slip Cover Project Continues
I am almost embarrassed for you to know it has taken me over a year to finish up this ottoman slip cover. Back in March of 2009 , I started a project that had been waiting for me for a very long time. Now, in October of 2010, I am just finishing only one element of it, the ottoman.
The saying goes that "if you want to get something done, give it to a busy person." I am not so sure that applies to me! There are only 24 hours in a day and I have a bad habit of starting too many projects at one time! Does that sound like any of you?
I still have to hem or put on a skirt...not sure yet.
Here is what it's SUPPOSED to look like
Ottoman from "Slipcovers by Shelly" This is my first attempt ever at slip covers and I just didn't get the two seams lined up well. I probably should have cut one long piece with only one seam to go all the way around. I am learning!
I will keep going and come back to it after I know I have enough fabric to finish a chair. Here I go!
There are fabulous girls out there that have inspired me to do this. Every time I go look at their blogs, I pull the fabric out and do a little more. This blog -
Pink and Polkadot - got me started. I LOVE this blog! I downloaded her ebook and it has and continues to help me a great deal. I also have a book on slipcovering that I frequently reference.
Slip Cover Chic
Much To Do With Nothing
Custom Slipcovers by Shelley - I bought her How to Make Slipcover DVD
I will just stick with this project until I get it finished, even if it takes years!
Thanks for stopping by today and I will keep you posted.

So Shabby Pink - Storage, Small Details and The Unexpected
Hello! It is just another hot Sunday afternoon. Keeping cool inside today.
I am always looking for ways to decrease clutter in our home. There are endless ways to be creative when it comes to storage. My biggest problem, however, when I do something new is to REMEMBER what I did! We were looking for the remote controls recently and I forgot I had created a new place to put them.
PROBLEM: Out of sight....out of mind!
Oh, yes! Now I remember.
I also love the beach and use shells as decor in a few areas. This is my newest. One more place for storage too.
This is our unexpected fireplace screen. If we do use the fireplace, which is rather seldom here in Texas, we remove the vintage wooden screen and there is a metal drawing screen behind it. I don't think my husband has yet adjusted to this and it's been there for years. This is a compromise, however, so he can have some things he wants in other parts of the house. Ladies, sometimes we just have to learn to negotiate with our men!
One of the things that makes a house feel like home, is the small details.
Think I will go sew awhile this afternoon. Adding some blue accents to this mostly white room. It needs a little something different to refresh the look.
Hope all are doing well today and thanks for stopping by.

So Shabby Pink Blog in Romantic Homes - Update on Vintage Rose Boutiques
Hello! How is everyone today? Something really nice happenend to me recently. Romantic Homes Magazine wrote about my blog in their September 2010 issue! I was so surprised and thrilled! I have had to pinch myself a few times to remind myself this is real!
The response and interest in our products has been keeping me pretty busy. Many thanks to Romantic Homes and all of our customers.
And now for an UPDATE on VINTAGE ROSE BOUTIQUES
You may remember that a bunch of us ladies that own our businesses went to the January 2010 Dallas Total Home and Gift Show as exhibitors. The tractor trailor is just a dream of the future.....(yes, I Photoshopped it)

So Shabby Pink - The Hummingbirds are back!
Hurray! We were just eating lunch and a hummingbird (maybe from last year) came to the spot I hang their feeder. Doesn't it amaze you how they "remember?" They're back!!
Here are some pictures from last summer:
Hope to have more pictures this year. They migrate to Brazil in the winter so
I hope they met new friends and will bring them to our house! I boiled 4 cups of water with 1 cup of sugar and cooled it off in a hurry. It's out there waiting now and so am I. Dinner is ready!! Thanks for stopping by! Peggy

So Shabby Pink - It's Memorial Day
Hi there.
My husband is retired from the Air Force so we remember all the patriotic holidays. Memorial Day is to remember all those who have died while serving in the military. It was originally known as Decoration Day and was to remember the fallen Union soldiers in the Civil War. It was expanded after WW I to include all.
The meaning of so many of our holidays gets blurred over time. Retailers use them to promote sales. There are picnics and gatherings to have fun, eat and dance. Let's talk a few minutes this weekend and remember what Monday is all about.
Hoping all are well and that you remember those men and women at some point this holiday weekend.

So Shabby Pink - Happy Mother's Day !!
Hello! Happy Mother's Day from yesterday - to all you mom's out there! You are so special and you really do rule the world! Well, we decided to try something different - something a little more personal. We have put together these pretty rose necklaces with a huge clear rhinestone in the center. So far, they are available in our original pink and a darker shade of turquoise we like. The tie is 28" long and, of course, can be adjusted. We are also going to step outside of our "color palatte comfort zone" and offer a variety of colors we have not used before. You will have to check back periodically at So Shabby Pink since we don't even know what we will end up with! That is the fun part. Thanks for stopping by today. Hope all is well. Warm regards, Peggy
