So, living in the city now creates the challenge of where to plant things! I like growing vegetables the most. I used to grow things just to see what they looked like. Did you know that the okra plant has the most GORGEOUS flower you have ever seen? I envy those of you with big garden space.
Anyway, fresh home grown tomatoes are just the best so I am trying two types this year in big pots on the patio. Look! Little tomatoes already!
We are in south Texas and it's already 90 degrees on some days. Tomatoes like south Texas.
Wow! Aren't they cute?
We have this HUGE Arizona Ash tree in the backyard so sunshine is hard to find. The canopy fills the entire yard. The tomatoes in the big pots are portable so this will work out just fine.
Squirrels. That's the next challenge. I have already bought the chicken wire. I obviously am not growing our own tomatoes to save money. After the plants, the pots, the dirt and the chicken wire, they are definately not money savers, however, they are sure going to taste good!

There is nothing like a home grown tomato! That's mainly what I have in my garden. You may actually be saving money even with all your expenditures - have you priced them at the store lately?!

I hope your tomatoes grow big, ripe and juicy! I know what you mean about not growing them to save money...after having to buy potting soil, clay buster and cages I figure my tomatoes will cost about $10 each -lol.

here's hoping that the tomato plants give you a bumper crop this year.I too am in the city..but we have a pretty good sized garden..thanks to my husbands love of the tiller..ha.
about a quarter of our large backyard is now garden area.
